Description   Market Street in Maysville, Ky. as it appeared around the turn of the 20th century.   Features... A collector commissioned me to paint this scene of Maysville's middle Market Street . He had an 1910 post card for me to use. I enlarged it on a copier to see details of the building that are now gone. I then drew and painted it on location in front of our gallery. There has been a lot of changes in Maysville since the post card was printed, but I was able to put it all together in color. The trolly was probably dark green and tan. I could not find any color references to tell for sure. The old fountain was near the middle of Market street. In the 1950's it was taken to Beechwood Park. As a child I would play in it when Mom brought me to town to visit my grandmother. Steve White
