As I was walking to my gallery, I passed the window of a local antique shop and noticed a basket sitting on top of a white table. I asked the shop owner if I could do a painting of it. He said, ''Sure!'', and gave me a key to get into his shop. Wanting to put some color in the painting, I thought how nice it would look with an arrangement of orange bittersweet. It was a dry year and I had trouble finding bittersweet. My mother told me it would be growing on a certain fence post along a rural road. After driving the twenty miles to the location, the bittersweet was exactly where my mom said it woud be. Hurriedly, I went back and arranged it several different ways before deciding on the arrangement that is in the print. The original painting was a dry brush watercolor on bristol paper. I had it printed as a giclee on watercolor paper and the reproductions look just like the original. The prints are for sale in our gallery and at the Artisian Center in Berea, Ky. Steve White
